Located on approximately 40 acres near Mt Zion, Illinois, the Mt. Zion Community Solar Project is a 5 MW AC community solar facility expected to generate roughly 10 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, enough clean, locally produced energy to power an estimated 1,200 homes each year.
Beyond clean electricity generation, the project prioritizes access and affordability. A significant portion of the project’s capacity will serve low- and moderate-income subscribers, reinforcing Enterprise Energy’s commitment to expanding equitable participation in the clean energy transition.
Once operational, the Mt. Zion project is projected to reduce carbon emissions by nearly 4,000 metric tons annually, helping decrease reliance on fossil fuels while strengthening regional grid resilience. Construction is anticipated to begin this spring, advancing the delivery of reliable, locally generated renewable power to the community.
Reaching financial close represents more than a transaction, it reflects years of disciplined development, collaboration, and shared vision. Enterprise Energy extends sincere gratitude to the landowners, community partners, investors, and development teams whose dedication helped bring this project across the finish line.
As Enterprise Energy continues expanding its Midwest portfolio, projects like Lockport highlight the accelerating momentum behind community-centered clean energy development delivering local savings, local investment, and long-term sustainability for the communities we serve.
